PIB 160 Installation, Morrinsville, Waikato, NZ

Paul Donderwinkel of Centigrade Refrigeration was the first DCS installer to install one of our large PIB’s in the Waikato Region. Both Paul and the farmer were very impressed with the installation and the ice bank once it was up and running. This was not your typical installation as the pump, air blower and electrical panel were remotely mounted to suit the space.
The PIB 160 is suitable for farms with a herd size between 400-500 cows where bore water pre-cooling is in place, or 300-400 cows without pre-cooling. To find the PIB that would best suit you and for more information visit our product page here.

A few weeks after installation the DCS team took a group of our installer partners to the Morrinsville farm to see the PIB in action. Lunch was first on the agenda at the Kaimi Cheese Factory Café in Waharoa. Paul from Centigrade, farmer Gary and son Brian hosted the team on the farm, showing them around and then watched the start of milking where the milk was entering the tank at 2.5 degrees C!

Kelly from DCS spoke to Gary the farmer and Paul from Centigrade, hear what they had to say about the performance of the PIB  a few weeks on from installation. Unfortunately the wind decided to pick up when we interviewed Gary so we have added subtitles to make things a bit easier.
